The
little 1934 has become a favourite of mine over the years.
Nowhere else have I seen such a small compact house, than
this. Within its small construction it manages to pack in
a load of design elements and influences from East and West.
Unfortunately the little house is shrouded in mystery with
tales of murder about it. This has somewhat muddied the
waters when attempting to find out the actual history of
the building. When you first enter the house you instantly
notice all the occultist type drawings on the walls. Upstairs
and downstairs also had religious offerings left here and
there, some recently left.
The supposed darkness that shrouds this house has in a way
also protected the building. For years it sat un molested
with all its fittings and metal parts left untouched. Only
in recent years has this "scooby doo" effect started
to wear thin, with many things since being removed and stolen.
Today (2016) the iron bars on the front windows are now
all gone, as are the windows themselves. The natural elements
have also not been kind and the entire wooden 1st storey
has begun to slowly collapse in.
This is definitely a fascinating little building in itself,
but clearly wrapped up in a lot of human sadness that still
manages to linger on even till today.
